We used salt dough to make molds of the world. Next we painted each continent a different color. Last we painted the ocean blue. Next year we hope to make U.S. Maps and World Maps.

We love math and literacy workstations! Most of the workstations I have in my room have been purchased from Lakeshore Learning.

Election 2008: Favorite 1st Lady Cookie

Halloween 2008: We graphed M&Ms, measured with Candy Corn, created and wrote about a Jack o'lantern, had Mrs. Mintz show us some very cool experiments, painted with marshmallows, and had a treat.

Water/Matter Investigations: We investigated what objects sink and float, we also investigated what materials mix/won't mix and dissolve/won't dissolve in water.

Christmas 2008: This year we had a full week of school before break. We explored stations, made ornaments, made Cookies in a Jar, made Gingerbread Houses, had Polar Express Day, and a wonderful Winter Luncheon.

Inauguration Day: We watched the Inauguration of our First African American President and we made a timeline of his life. Mrs. Berryman's Class joined us for this historic viewing.

Ancient Civilization Celebration: We enjoyed Chinese Food, made Egyptian Collars and played with Chinese Tangrams.

The Science Place: We had an in-school field trip from the Science Place Called Weather Wonders.

Valentine's Day: We graphed Conversation Hearts in math. Mrs. Mintz taught us about symmetry by helping us created Heart Hats. We exchanged Valentine's and took pictures with our Valentine's Box Projects.

Cat in the Hat: I photographed all (minus two who were out sick) the students as Cat in the Hat to kick of Read Across America Week. Activities have been postponed due to snow.
