Independent Writing Time
20 minutes |
After the mini-lesson, students have
independent writing time. During this time students are working on
their own stories in their Writer's Notebook. Students should be
applying the strategies and skills taught during mini lessons. I
will be monitoring students during this time and conferring with
students who are at that stage in the writing process.

Author's Chair
10 minutes |
After independent writing time students will share what they have been
working on. During this time a few students will share a piece of
writing in the author's chair while all others listen or all students
share their writing with a partner.

Classroom Writing Board |
I've decided to add our writing traits, strategies and skills to a
classroom bulletin board much like the one I made for Math and
"Face" of a Reader.
