Frequently Asked Questions:

What prompted you to start your own website? Well, when I was in college I had to create a webpage for my technology class. Of course it was a fictional site and was geared towards parents. I had had an account with Yahoo and back then when you registered you received a free webpage hosted by Geocities. Geocities was very user friendly and I used them up until this summer when I created my own site from scratch.

Why did you create your own website from scratch? I wanted it to be a resource for my students and their parents, but most of all I wanted it to be a resource for other educators. I have been blessed by God with the talents and the abilities that I have. I feel that I have an obligation to share them with others. Therefore, creating my own site was the best way for me to do that.

How did you design your webpage? I use a program called Microsoft Expressions Web 2. It's a newer version of Frontpage. I had a free trial and decided to make the most of it. It was very easy to use. It's set up much like Microsoft Word so it was easy for me to navigate. It is very expensive if you buy it from Microsoft, however I purchased my copy from Everything Outlet. Microsoft 4 is currently available but I'm not sure how that differs from the second version.

Where did you purchase your graphics? I think I can say that 99.9% of my graphics I purchased from Thistlegirl Designs. I also her EZ Change Website Templates for members. I must say that using a template to design my site was very easy. But I have learned how to create pages without using a preset template. I am also a member of her Graphics Club

How did you get your domain name? I purchased my domain name for $9.99/year from Go Daddy. They run cheaper specials from time to time.

Who hosts your website? I also chose Go Daddy to host my website. I shopped around but found them to be the most cost effective. But I think if you buy a domain from them you may be able to get free hosting. Free hosting does come with ads at the top of your page.

Who inspired the design for you website? Every teacher I have listed on my Teacher Websites page have inspired me. I spent countless hours looking at various classroom sites and creating one that was best for me. The internet has been an unending resource for me as I have embarked on this website design journey.  My website is truly an example of "I can do all things, through Christ, who strengthens me!"
